Hands. Face. Space. Find Your Place

Life over the past year has been really difficult. Every aspect of our ‘normal’ lives have been tried and tested to the limit, and sometimes it can all feel a bit much. But, there is one thing has been there for us throughout it all - art. Our ability to express ourselves through creativity has not, and will never, be put on hold.

This exhibition is a collection of artworks in which artists, from students to hobbyists to professionals, have submitted work that reflects their experience of this time in the form of portraiture. Artists can portray feelings in portraits that they find difficult to convey in words, such as love for others, difficult emotions and challenging experiences. Art can be the ultimate form of therapy, a way to clear our heads, put our thoughts in order and find out more about ourselves.

We have curated the submissions into three predominant themes: Friends & Family, Impact & Mental Health and Animal Companions. We’re sure you will be able to relate to, or find comfort in, these pieces, which so beautifully depict the struggles all of us face and the things that matter most to us at present. Enjoy the exhibition!

Hands. Face. Space... sounds like the perfect ingredients for a portrait!
